WEEKLY SCHEDULE

A TYPICAL WEEK

Many incoming students, not surprisingly, have questions about what a typical week entails. Medical school is busy, but there are some patterns in our schedule that make each week routine. We typically have class from 8:00am to 12:00pm generally consisting of optional lectures, required small groups, ESS, histology, or anatomy. Electives, Practice of Medicine small groups, C.A.R.E, and diagnostics during the afternoon. Most students have at least 2-3 afternoons open during the week to spend how they would like, either academic or leisure. Also, most students feel they have autonomy in directing their schedule and feel like they have sufficient time to maintain a healthy "work-life balance."

Below you will find a typical schedule. Some events (like classes) are created by the UCSD administrators, while others (like lunch talks and events) are added by student interest groups or from your personal calendar.
